Dr. Pankaj Agrawal is Technical Officer-Universal Immunization Programme from World Health Organization, India and currently deployed at Immunization Division to technically assist MoHFW for Universal Immunization Programme. He is the focal person for Polio eradication programme at Immunization Division, MoHFW. He is providing guidance regarding new vaccine introductions such as Inactivated Polio Vaccine, MR vaccine. Dr. Pankaj has played a crucial role in planning, coordination and management of tOPV to bOPV switch at National level. He is also responsible for providing guidance regarding poliovirus containment activities and research work for IPV introduction across country. Dr. Pankaj was also a part of International Mission where he participated in Polio eradication activities in Nigeria.
Prior to his current assignment he has worked as Surveillance Medical Officer with WHO, NPSP where he supported polio eradication activities in high risk and hard to reach areas of Bihar in limited resource settings and challenging field conditions. He has also been involved in research activities related to Measles, Polio and tuberculosis.
Dr. Pankaj Agrawal received his MBBS from reputed King George Medical College, Lucknow. After the graduation he availed MD in Community Medicine form prestigious Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi.
