Dr. Arun Sharma, is Director-Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at University College of Medical Sciences, and Head of the Department in University of Delhi. He is the Professor in-charge of the Tele-medicine unit, and Head of the Biostatistics and Medical Informatics Department of the college. He is a guest faculty at Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi and Occupational Health Consultant to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and Quality Austria Central Asia Pvt. Limited.
He had been awarded Department of Health Research visiting scholarship to University of Illinois (Urbana-Champain) in 2015 for training in GIS and Spatial epidemiology, Hubert Humphrey Fellowship to study Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Mental Health at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, USA, in 2004-05, WHO Travel fellowship in 2002, Rockefeller ICOWHI Scholarship in 2010. He has more than 60 research publications. His current research interests are environmental health, spatial epidemiology, chronic respiratory illnesses, one health and zoonotic diseases. He is currently working on three projects related to spatio-teporal epidemiology of chronic respiratory illness and air pollution funded by Department of Health Research and Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India.

- Spatial analysis using geographic information system based maps to determine the impact of environmental and occupation hazards in causation of Chronic Obstructive Lung Diseases. Funded by UGC (2012-2015).
- Spatio-temporal epidemiology of Chronic Respiratory Illnesses in Urban Indian Settlements (STEPCRUISE). Funded by Department of Health Research, Govt. of India (2016-2018).
- HIV Vulnerability and risk among selected female migrant workers in India. National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), 2017-18.
- Impact of Environmental Bio-aerosol Pollution on Human Health: A “case-control study” for Exacerbation of COPD in North Indian Population. Funded by Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Govt. of India (2015-2018).
Monitoring Indoor Air Pollution (IAP) in urban agglomeration of Delhi and accessing its Human Health Impacts Funded by Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India (2017-2020).
